Commission for Aviation Regulation...

The Commission for Aviation Regulation regulates certain aspects of the aviation and travel trade sectors in Ireland. It was established on the 27th February 2001 under the Aviation Regulation Act, 2001

The Commission is also responsible for licensing the travel trade in Ireland, and grants licences to both tour operators and travel agents. As part of this function, the Commission administers a bonding scheme to re-imburse consumers in the event of a travel agent collapse.


IATA is an international trade body, created over 60 years ago by a group of airlines. Today, IATA represents some 230 airlines comprising 93% of scheduled international air traffic. The organization also represents, leads and serves the airline industry in general.
